Budget Hotels in Amsterdam are a little bit harder to find all around the year than in most other backpacking cities like Madrid, Rome or Paris and so forth. This has to do with the fact the realistically there is no big difference in the demands for cheap hotels and hostels between any of the months during the year. One could say high season in Amsterdam is a stable status. People go to Amsterdam pretty much regardless of the temperature. Amsterdam is always fun! And lets be honest the two major things why millions go there every year is sex and drugs and both looks usually just fine regardless of the weather. Although there might be a few exeptions that go to Amsterdam only for to see the Anne Frank House and Van Gogh Museum. But that is rather a small percentage as we all would assume anyway. In my own experience there are two ways how to find a good and cheap hotel in Amsterdam. The one way is if you are look for budget hotels in Amsterdam what you should do is check out all the private hostels there. Some good once I personally stayed are the Meetingpoint Hostel, Cristophers Inns, Flying Pig, Bull's hostel and the Amigo Hostel. Some of them have private single rooms from 70 to 90 or 100 Euro on weekends. Bear in mind that in Amsterdam prices for budget accommodation always go up towards the weekend and come down again after sundays. To charge up to 20 or 30% more for the same bed in a hostel for a Friday or Saturday night in Amsterdam city centre is normal thing to do.
